PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Control Room Co-ordinator is accountable to oversee the control of the smelter arc furnace by utilizing SCADA system focusing on achieving consistent & maximize production throughput.
- Summary Of Key Responsibilities Included But Not Limited To
- Ensures maximum throughputs across the arc furnace and BBOC plants to achieve the smelter financial year targets.
- Ensure that all faults are reported to the maintenance department on time to minimise downtimes.
- Ensure that all job cards are completed and that the work is scheduled to staff accordingly.
- Ensures that the lead drossing and 2t Induction furnaces achieve the production targets and quality requirements.
- Provides adequate troubleshooting within Arc Furnace and BBOC through checking SCADA parameters.
- Drives timeous and accurate reporting through production logs and performance feedback on shift basis.
- Ensures that all by-products generated are weighed and sent for sampling for metal balance purposes.
- Supervise and ensure that daily furnace production targets are achieved.
- Ensure that production reports are completed swiftly for the furnaces and submitted to the foreman.
- Supervise the running of the furnace by checking the temperature, flow meters, AF utilization and problem solving where required.
- Implement methods and suggestions from the process leader (i. e. waste reduction, productivity, cost management).
- Ensure that there is full compliance with the SHEQ procedures for people and equipment and product.
