Due to ongoing success and expansion we are currently recruiting for a full time Legal Assistant to join our Child Law Team based in Leeds.
Previous experience would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be provided. Ramsdens are committed to the progression of our staff, and this is a fantastic opportunity to start a long term career with the firm so we welcome applications from law graduates who want to develop their career within a busy, friendly, dynamic and highly experienced team.
Tasks will vary depending on the department but will likely include the following:
- Assisting fee earners with case progression and helping them manage their caseloads by dealing with specific delegated tasks.
- Preparing Hearing and Trial bundles.
- Drafting documents including instructions to counsel.
- Dealing with new telephone enquiries.
- Dealing with correspondence and liaising directly with clients and third parties.
- Attending to clients, both in person and on the telephone, to provide support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the firm's standards for client care.
- Ensuring compliance with quality control procedures for all matters within your control.
- Keeping abreast of changes in legislation and other regulatory aspects by attending training provided.
- Legal research.

- Ability to prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Demonstrates an interest in the area of law applied for.
- Ability to show empathy, be confident, patient and understanding.
- Good communication skills – both oral and written.
- Some legal work experience is desirable.
