Job Title: Business Development Manager

Reporting to: Commercial Manager

Location: Hybrid (Field-based with office/home working)

Progression: Clear path to progress into an Account Manager role

Purpose of the Role

FINECLEAN is recruiting a driven and commercially astute Business Development Manager to generate new business and grow revenue. This role is focused primarily on winning project-based jobs rather than recurring contracts. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business, building long-term client relationships, and building month-on-month revenue from £30k£50k+ towards consistent £100k months as the account base grows.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role suited to a self-starter who thrives in a target-driven environment and enjoys being on the ground developing real-world relationships. As the successful candidate builds and retains a portfolio of accounts, the objective is to step up into an Account Manager role taking on a larger book of business and greater earning potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively generate new business through site visits, cold outreach, networking, and relationship-building
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities, with a primary focus on project-based jobs
  • Work closely with the Growth & Marketing Manager to convert generated leads, while taking ultimate ownership of generating your own leads and cultivating opportunities
  • Identify and engage key decision-makers (Facilities Managers, Operations Managers, Site Leads)
  • Own the full 360 sales process from first contact through to deal closure and handover
  • Maintain exceptional administrative and organisational discipline so that every opportunity is tracked and nothing slips through the cracks
  • Ensure all opportunities are accurately recorded and managed in HubSpot
  • Maintain pricing discipline and margin integrity in line with company targets
  • Represent FINECLEAN professionally at networking events and industry forums/expos
  • Contribute market insight to support service development and pricing strategy

Success Measures

  • Steady month-on-month revenue growth £30k£50k+ months building towards consistent £100k months
  • Gross profit generation in line with agreed quarterly targets
  • Pipeline value, quality, and conversion rates
  • Quality of client relationships and repeat business

About You

  • Proven B2B sales experience (facilities management, services, or construction preferred)
  • Comfortable with field-based, relationship-led sales
  • Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of margin and profitability
  • Highly self-motivated, resilient, and strongly driven by money and commission
  • Professional, confident communicator with strong negotiation skills
  • Exceptional administrative and organisational skills, with confident use of HubSpot and disciplined reporting
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
