Pinehill Hospital is one of Hertfordshire's leading private hospitals, providing high-quality care across a wide range of specialties. We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Porter to join our Facilities team on a part-time basis.

As a Porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the hospital by supporting patients, clinical teams, and hospital departments in delivering an outstanding service.

What you'll do

  • Safe transfer of patients to and from theatres, wards and various hospital departments.
  • Transportation of wheelchairs between departments and car parks as required.
  • Collection and movement of laundry, waste, and clinical waste throughout the hospital.
  • Daily transfer, replacement and monitoring of medical gas cylinders.
  • Carrying out deliveries and collections to external sites and locations.
  • Supporting departments with furniture moves and general porterage duties when required.
  • Assisting with general housekeeping and ensuring hospital areas remain safe and tidy.
  • Providing a professional, courteous and helpful service to patients, visitors and colleagues.

What you'll bring

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Is physically able to undertake manual handling activities safely.
  • Can work effectively as part of a busy team.
  • Is dependable, flexible and willing to support a variety of departments.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and is confident driving for deliveries and collections.
  • Has a positive attitude and takes pride in delivering a high standard of service.
  • Previous porter, facilities, logistics, housekeeping or healthcare experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

Hours

This is a permanent 22.5 hour per week position. The normal working days will be; Wednesday, Thursday & Friday. There is also a requirement to participate in the weekend rota, working approximately one weekend in every four to five weeks, depending on team availability and operational requirements.
