Woodland Hospital is one of Northamptonshire’s leading private hospitals located in Kettering. Woodland Hospital has 35 single rooms, all with en suite facilities, a multi bedded day ward and a two bedded high dependency unit. By investing in advanced medical technology, the hospital offers a wide range of treatments and services. The fully equipped theatre suite with ultra clean air technology is particularly suitable for orthopaedic procedures offered such as arthroscopy, hip and knee replacements, including hip resurfacing and spinal surgery.
The role:
We currently have a great opportunity for a NHS Appointments Team Lead to join our team at Woodlands Hospital, based at Kettering.
Based at Rothwell Grange, the main objective of the role is data quality and commitment to excellent Customer Service whilst ensuring close working relationships with teams across both hospitals.
You will have great communication and interpersonal skills and will be able to demonstrate experience in leading a team.
As a NHS Appointments Team Leader and to be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate you have significant experience in managing patient pathways. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to negotiate and liaise effectively within a team-based environment to ensure the data for patients on the waiting lists is accurate and appropriately reflects the patient’s current position on the Pathway for the provision of a systematic, efficient and confident service.
You will be responsible for providing guidance, instruction, training, and leadership skills to inspire the team to perform at their optimum. This is a busy and demanding role so candidates will need to be enthusiastic, highly motivated and have a flexible approach to their role to ensure the needs of the service are met.
You will supervise the day-to-day activities of the team, build quality relationships, and provide a positive patient experience whilst ensuring accuracy of data throughout a patient’s journey. This role will report directly to the Hospital’s Administration Manager.
Key Duties:

Conduct Performance Development Reviews (PDR’s) and regular Team Meetings

Employee Rostering, Inductions and Absence Management

Manage the team to ensure complex patient pathways from multiple specialties, in line with the agreed Hospital Access Policy

Provide advice to Consultants and Administration teams where there is a lack of awareness or following of the policy. Be sufficiently skilled to impart knowledge and skills effectively to others across a variety of staff levels and disciplines

To liaise with Administrative, Operational and Clinical Teams to ensure that elective access standards are being actively monitored and managed, and that elective access pathways run as smoothly as possible.

Managing the Hospital telephone system, ensuring all calls are answered in agreed timescales and directed accordingly

Ensure all records and reports are maintained and kept up to date

Be confident in engaging with a variety of people particularly in a high-end setting

Excellent communication skills both face to face, over the phone and in writing

Proven ability to make decisions and establish priorities under conflicting demands
