Clifton Park Hospital, opened in 2006 and located just outside York, is a modern, purpose-built hospital rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). It features 24 beds, two theatres, a day case unit, a large outpatient department with X-ray facilities, and on-site physiotherapy, including a small gym area. In 2018, the hospital expanded with a new outpatient department comprising 11 consulting rooms, two treatment rooms, and additional X-ray facilities.

The role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Porter to join our team at Clifton Park Hospital in York. Reporting to the Supplies Manager, you will work within a supportive, patient-centered team to ensure smooth hospital operations. Your responsibilities include managing incoming stock and consumables, transporting patients and equipment, and supporting clinical teams.

Porters play a vital role in hospital operations, moving essential items and patients, supporting workflow, and enhancing patient experience. We value resilience, dignity, and teamwork. You will receive comprehensive induction training covering health and safety, manual handling, and job-specific skills, with pathways for career progression.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Experience in stock control or portering (or willingness to learn)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Flexibility and adaptability to shift patterns

  • Valid clean driving licence
