Situated in 14 acres of quiet, landscaped parkland two miles south of Salisbury, the Georgian Manor House was opened as a hospital in 1980 and currently has 32 patient beds.
The role
We currently have a great new opportunity for a Medical Secretary to join our team at New Hall Hospital, based in Salisbury. At Ramsay Health Care UK, we know our people are our most important asset. Your main task will be supporting our consultants with fast and precise record creation which is important to the smooth running of patient management. You will be expected to multi-task across a range of secretarial duties; offer good judgement in escalating issues, prioritising jobs, highly accurate typing, as these tasks all play an important part of your role. You’ll be valued for your skills and expertise and have the chance to build on them through our Ramsay Academy, too.
What You’ll Do
- Provide a high quality secretarial service to Consultants
- Maintain confidential patient records as per Ramsay Health Care Policies
- Liaise regularly with internal and external customers
- Resolve customer queries, whether personal or via the phone or email, in a professional manner
- Support Differentiation initiatives
What You’ll Bring With You
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent – English Language essential
- Previous medical secretarial experience and/or knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Excellent computer skills – attention to detail and ability to proof read and touch type
- Excellent word processing and audio skills – ability to auto type consultants dictation records
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business
- Excellent customer service skills
