We are looking for a Bank Porter / Driver for our Ashtead Hospital in Surrey. The role involves providing general portering services across all hospital departments, including operating theatres, stores, security patrols, and driving deliveries between Ramsay Hospitals.
Key Duties
- Agree work patterns with the Hotel Services Manager.
- Collaborate with Operating Theatre Manager and Decontamination unit head to meet patient care priorities.
- Work harmoniously with portering and other teams.
- Move goods and equipment safely across the hospital.
- Transport patients safely using proper lifting techniques.
- Handle post‑office tasks.
- Setup conference rooms for meetings and training.
- Maintain car park and gardens; manage waste storage areas.
- Assist with medical gas cylinder movements and deliveries.
- Prepare and maintain patient‑moving equipment.
- Collect and process specimens for pathology.
- Scan theatre store locations and replenish stock daily.
- Cover for driving the 3.5‑ton van to transport instruments to Reading and Caterham.
- Remove clinical and general waste and sharp bins from departments.
- Handle disposal of medical and general waste from theatres during operation.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and report incidents.
- Collect dirty linen from designated locations to the outside container.

Ashtead Hospital, KT21 2SB, on the edge of Ashtead Village, on the A24 between Leatherhead and Epsom.
