This is a great opportunity for an experienced Cardiac Physiologist to be part of the amazing Team Duchy’ and to further the development of the elective cardiology service at the Duchy Hospital with a cardiac cath lab that is about to be fully refurbished with state-of-the-art facilities enabling additional services.
The cardiology service currently provides a range of outpatient clinics, diagnostic testing for both in-patients and outpatients, and our lab offers a range of procedures including elective angiography, PCI, device implantation, Cardioversion and Transoesophageal echocardiography. The lab is about to be fully refurbished which will allow further development of the range of PCI procedures to include Rotablation and shockwave.
The successful candidate should be an experienced cardiac physiologist able to deliver their own outpatient clinics performing and reporting echo. Professional accreditation with BSE and/or HRUK/IBHRE is a necessity for the role. Competence to undertake other non-invasive investigations such as stress echo, treadmills, and pacemaker FU including ILR, CRT, ICD and brady devices would be advantageous as would the ability to support cath lab lists for elective angiography, PCI and device implant/explant although this is not a requirement.
Suitable applicants must have the ability to work under pressure and be able to effectively manage the team as well as working as a part of that team. They should be able to demonstrate previous management experience including managing a team of staff, managing clinical activity, and communication across disciplines including consultants. They will show a willingness to learn to further develop their knowledge and skills.
