Role Overview
As a Proposal Manager and Writer, you will be responsible for managing and producing high-quality, persuasive proposals in response to RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and other procurement documents for both institutional and commercial opportunities. This role requires strong organisation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments and stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate, and compelling proposal submissions that align with the company’s strategic goals. Experience working with institutional entities, for example European Space Agency and the UK Space Agency, is a must.
Key Responsibilities
Proposal Management
- Lead end-to-end proposal development processes, from opportunity analysis to final submission.
- Create and manage detailed proposal project plans, timelines, and compliance checklists.
- Facilitate proposal kick-off meetings and coordinate input from subject matter experts (SMEs), sales, marketing, and technical teams and appropriate reviews.
- Ensure proposals are compliant with all client requirements and deadlines.
Proposal Writing
- Write and edit original content for proposals, executive summaries, capability statements, and supporting materials.
- Tailor content to client needs and evaluation criteria with a focus on clear, persuasive language.
- Synthesize complex technical information into reader-friendly, compelling narratives.Maintain and update a proposal content library with approved boilerplate text and case studies.
Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate closely with business development, operations, and executive leadership to craft win strategies and value propositions.
- Lead proposal reviews internally (and with external Institutional entities as required) and incorporate feedback into final submissions.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to gather information and ensure alignment.
Process Improvement
- Evaluate and enhance proposal processes, tools, and templates to improve quality and efficiency.
- Monitor and report proposal metrics and outcomes to support business development strategy.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in proposal writing, preferably in the Space industry and working with Institutional and Commercial entities
- Familiarity with proposal generation & compliance requirements for European Space Agency
- Demonstrated success managing multiple, complex proposals under tight deadlines.
- Strong proposal management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset and a sense of urgency.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments, ideally within a startup or agile setting. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and SharePoint
