Ramboll invites you to apply for a Technician Apprenticeship in our Transport Infrastructure team, assisting the delivery of Infrastructure design services across a range of projects. You will receive full support to achieve a Level 3 qualification, typically on a day release basis, to build a foundation for a successful career.
Apprenticeship Details
- The apprenticeship typically lasts 27 months (depending on experience).
- The cost is paid by Ramboll through the Apprenticeship Levy.

- BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment
Progression Opportunities
On completion, you will meet the requirements for registration as an Engineering Technician with the Institution of Civil Engineers, under the Engineering Council. Potential progression could include continuing as a Civil Engineering Technician, pursuing a Senior Technician Apprenticeship, or a Degree in Civil Engineering (apprenticeship options available).
Apprenticeship Course Delivery
The apprenticeship involves working for Ramboll 4 days a week with one day a week for college or remote study at South Hampshire College Group. End Point Assessment will demonstrate you have learned the required knowledge, skills, and behaviours.
Role and Team
You will join the Roads & Highways department in our Southampton office, as part of a fast-growing, dynamic team. You will receive on-the-job training and mentoring from experienced professionals. Your key tasks will include:
- Working on Small, Medium and Large projects, producing 3D models, visualisations, drawings and schedules describing how to build our award-winning designs under the discipline manager
- Learning to use an extensive suite of CAD applications and improving their use
- Collaborating with the Transport team and other Ramboll groups nationally and internationally to deliver projects
- Promoting the Ramboll brand, core values and our strategy as The Partner for Sustainable Change
- Applying and promoting health & safety, quality and environmental policies

- Typically at least 5 GCSEs including Mathematics and English at grade 4 (C) or above
- Keen interest in the Built Environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Minimum age 18 on appointment for insurance liability purposes
