We have an increasing portfolio of projects in the energy and industrial sectors, and we are looking for an experienced Civil or Structural Engineer to join our Global multidisciplinary Industry and Infrastructure Facilities team. Working as part of the team you’ll be expected to lead the structural design of buildings on our projects in the energy and industrial sectors. This role includes responsibility for assisting with upskilling other team members to support the development of innovative solutions, ensuring structural integrity, and optimising designs.
The role is primarily office based (with opportunities for hybrid working) located within one of our structural engineering teams in either our Manchester, London, Leeds, Chester, Leeds, Southampton or Bristol offices. There will be occasional travel to client and project sites required.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing structural engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Following FEED/FEL, DED, OE stages and similar project delivery models.
- Analyse and design of structural systems for energy and industrial facilities, including manufacturing and production buildings, sub stations, power stations/energy centres and other infrastructure.
- Conducting structural analysis and detailed design to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
- Developing engineering solutions that enhance structural performance and optimise costs.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations specific to energy and industrial sectors.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including architectural, process equipment engineers, mechanical and electrical engineers.
- Preparing technical documentation, reports, and proposals.
- Providing mentorship and guidance to, and upskilling, junior engineers.
- Staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Supporting and inputting into business development and tendering activities.
Qualifications & experience required for the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Chartered Engineer, with either the IStructE or the ICE.
- Minimum of [7 for senior or principle & 10 for associate] years of industry experience in structural engineering, with specific experience in energy and industrial projects including the design sub-station design buildings.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and safety regulations specific to energy and industrial sectors.
Skills and competencies required for the role:
- Strong knowledge of structural design principles, materials, and construction methods.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software, such as ETABS, TSD, Robot or similar tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.

- Technical expertise in structural engineering concepts and practices.
