Your new role
As a Principal Air Quality Consultant you will provide air quality services for industrial, residential and commercial development projects. You will undertake national and international projects, manage complex air quality assessments, and mentor junior staff. The role is primarily desk based with occasional travel. You will be based within reasonable commute of our London, Birmingham or Manchester offices and benefit from flexible hybrid working.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver and manage air quality projects, either standalone or as part of a multiâdisciplinary team.
- Provide support to air quality and climate service line leaders.
- Supervise and develop junior staff to deliver high quality air quality projects.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments, regulations and standards relevant to air quality assessments.
- Represent Ramboll's air quality services to external stakeholders and contribute to marketâfacing initiatives.
- Support the acquisition of new projects by preparing technical proposals and strengthening client relationships.
- Support the development of new tools and techniques to improve the delivery of air quality services.
Qualifications and experience
- Demonstrable track record of delivering air quality assessments within the UK across a wide range of schemes.
- Experience with Air Dispersion Models (e.g. ADMS, ADMSâRoads, Aermod) and GIS packages for digitising data input and output.
- Ability to interpret environmental guidelines, policies, plans and legislative requirements and assess their applicability to the project.
- Understanding of the UK legal framework for air quality assessments for planning applications and environmental permitting.
- Excellent client and stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to deliver accurate reports.
- Wellâorganised, able to prioritise workload with minimal supervision.
- Full member of the Institute of Air Quality Management.
Personal qualities
You will possess strong technical and organisational skills, a focus on best practice modelling, and the ability to lead workstreams with limited supervision. Excellent communication and an eye for detail are essential.
