Take a senior leadership role in the delivery of high-profile German signalling projects and help shape Ramboll’s cross-border capability in a strategically important market. As German Signalling Design Collaboration Lead, you will unite Ramboll UK&I and Ramboll Germany, aligning clients, technical teams, delivery interfaces and governance to deliver with confidence. You will bring proven German signalling experience, professional fluency in German and English, and the credibility to lead across organisations. Regular travel between the UK and Germany will be required.

In this role, you will join Ramboll’s UK&I Rail Systems team and work at the centre of our collaboration with Ramboll Germany and the wider German signalling market. You will lead the critical delivery interface between client, Ramboll Germany and Ramboll UK&I, ensuring alignment across communication, governance, technical understanding and execution. This is a high-impact role for someone who can lead confidently across organisations and borders, establish trusted ways of working and strengthen Ramboll’s position for long-term success in Germany.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead strategic and day-to-day collaboration between German clients, Ramboll Germany and Ramboll UK&I to enable successful project delivery
  • Act as the senior interface across client, partner and delivery teams, aligning scope, programme, technical expectations, risks and priorities
  • Establish robust cross-border governance, reporting and communication frameworks
  • Lead high-value meetings, workshops and technical discussions in German and English
  • Translate client requirements into clear, coordinated delivery actions across teams in Germany and the UK
  • Anticipate and resolve delivery risks, interface challenges and collaboration barriers
  • Support business development, bid activity and client engagement to strengthen Ramboll’s position in the German signalling market
  • Travel regularly between the UK and Germany to build relationships, support delivery and represent Ramboll with clients and partners

What You’ll Bring:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or Information Technology
  • Professional fluency in spoken and written German and English
  • Significant experience in Leit‑und Sicherungstechnik (LST) planning or the wider LST field
  • German certification as an LST Specialist Planner (m/f/d)
  • Good working knowledge of HOAI, VOB, relevant legal regulations and DB guidelines
  • Experience in contract award planning, bid preparation, client engagement and market development in Germany
  • Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, ProVI LST and MS Office, or the ability to learn quickly
  • Strong understanding of signalling delivery, technical interfaces, stakeholder, programme, risk and interface management in rail projects
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills for German- and English-speaking environments
  • Experience working across organisational, cultural and national boundaries
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly between the UK and Germany
  • IRSE Principles Signalling Design licence advantageous
