Your new role

As our new Infrastructure Principal Engineer you’ll be responsible for leading on Civil Engineering / Infrastructure design for projects led by the Infrastructure team or projects led by other departments where Ramboll’s offering is multi-disciplinary. You will also have a direct connection with the wider Infrastructure Teams based across the UK. Infrastructure projects could include Sustainable drainage (SuDS), surface water & foul water drainage, utilities, earthworks & highways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the design and development of civil and infrastructure engineering inputs for a mix of project types including local authority, residential, commercial and industrial developments.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate designs with other project components.
  • Providing technical advice, line management and mentoring to team members to support project delivery and professional development.
  • Planning and managing work activities to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
  • Engaging with stakeholders and clients throughout the design process to achieve required certifications and approvals.
  • Apply and promote policies relating to health and safety (including CDM Regulations), quality assurance, and training.
  • Preparation of discipline specific bid documentation including pricing.
  • Championing and advocating Ramboll Global Strategy ‘Partner for Sustainable Change’.

About you

  • Extensive technical knowledge in civil engineering including SuDS (sustainable drainage), Surface and Foul Water drainage and earthworks design and proficient in relevant standards including Sewerage Sector Guidance, DMRB, Manual for Streets and Building Regulations.
  • Experience in master-planning and site wide development desirable.
  • Experience in delivering projects to all RIBA Stages.
  • Experience in delivering sustainable solutions within the infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead single or multi-disciplinary projects and manage diverse teams.
  • Strong written and communication skills, with experience in preparing technical documents and reports.
  • Able to gain Baseline Personal Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC).
  • Proven ability in financial management of projects including fee forecasting, fee preparation, and allocation.
  • Ability to organise and conduct several activities simultaneously.
  • Track record of establishing relationships with individuals from other organizations, generating market intelligence and new business opportunities.
  • Degree in civil engineering.
  • Professional accreditation as a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or equivalent (desirable).
  • Software Experience: Experience of InfoDrainage, Microdrainage, Civil 3D desirable.
