Overview
You join Ramboll's UK Water team as an experienced hydrologist and hydraulic modeller. You will apply hydrology, hydraulic modelling and flood risk assessment across a varied portfolio, spanning UK infrastructure to international projects involving climate resilience, water management, mining and hydropower. You’ll develop technical expertise while taking increasing responsibility for project delivery and client relationships. The role offers collaboration with experts across Ramboll and opportunities to grow the hydrology capability and impact.

Responsibilities
- Undertake and, as experience grows, lead hydrological assessments, flood risk studies and hydraulic modelling for infrastructure, water management and climate resilience projects
- Apply appropriate hydrological and hydraulic modelling techniques with critical evaluation of data, assumptions, model performance and results
- Provide clear, technically robust advice to clients and multidisciplinary project teams, translating outputs into practical project decisions
- Contribute to a diverse portfolio of UK and international projects including infrastructure, development, mining, water management, hydropower and due diligence
- Support project delivery, technical quality, proposals and client development while sharing knowledge and supporting less experienced colleagues
Key requirements
- Degree or equivalent professional experience in hydrology, civil or environmental engineering, geography or related discipline
- Around five years (or more) of relevant experience in consultancy, industry or similar environment
- Practical experience with hydrological analysis and modelling software such as TUFLOW, Flood Modeller or HEC-RAS; understanding of UK flood hydrology methods
- Strong analytical skills with ability to critically evaluate data, assumptions and outputs
- Clear written and verbal communication with ability to work with clients and colleagues from different technical disciplines
