Overview
As a Hydrologist and Hydraulic Modeller in Ramboll’s UK Water team, you apply hydrology, flood risk assessment and hydraulic modelling to a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, water management, climate resilience and international projects. You’ll work with specialists across Ramboll to deliver multidisciplinary solutions and develop your technical expertise while taking on greater project delivery and client responsibilities. This role offers growth in hydrology and flood risk capabilities within a global sustainability-focused engineering firm.

Responsibilities
- Undertake and progressively lead hydrological assessments, flood risk studies and hydraulic modelling for infrastructure, water management and climate resilience projects
- Apply hydrological and hydraulic modelling techniques with critical evaluation of data, assumptions, and model performance
- Provide clear, technically robust advice to clients and project teams, translating outputs into actionable decisions
- Contribute to a diverse portfolio of UK and international projects including infrastructure, mining, water management, hydropower and due diligence
- Support project delivery, technical quality, proposals and client development while mentoring less experienced colleagues
Key requirements
- Strong professional experience in hydrology, flood risk assessment and/or hydraulic modelling (≈5+ years)
- Practical experience with hydrological analysis and modelling software such as TUFLOW, Flood Modeller or HEC-RAS
- Understanding of current UK flood hydrology methods
- Strong analytical skills with ability to critically evaluate data and outputs
- Clear written and verbal communication with clients and multidisciplinary teams
- Degree or equivalent professional experience in hydrology, civil/environmental engineering, geography or related field
