As an HV Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role within our Critical Systems team, contributing to a wide variety of projects. You will be responsible for designing electrical systems that are technically robust, efficient, sustainable, and tailored to meet client requirements. This position calls for a strong combination of technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and innovative thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical System Design: Develop and design electrical systems for various infrastructure and building projects, including HV/LV power distribution, standby power, UPS, and Earthing. Create detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations using software such as ETAP and Revit. Ensure designs are compliant with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Technical Expertise: Work alongside Senior/Principal Electrical Engineers to provide technical support and guidance to project teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle. Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering, power and building services technology. Conduct site inspections and assessments to verify compliance with design specifications.
- Sustainability and Innovation: Incorporate sustainable design principles into all electrical systems and projects. Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Participate in sustainability initiatives and contribute to the achievement of Ramboll's environmental goals.
- Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored electrical design solutions. Present design concepts and project updates to clients and stakeholders in a clear and professional manner. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other project partners.
- Team Collaboration: Assist in the planning and management of electrical engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Coordinate with other disciplines and stakeholders to ensure integrated and cohesive project solutions. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Critical Systems, Building Services team and other disciplines. Contribute to a positive and inclusive team environment.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., IEng or working towards Chartership).
- Proven experience in electrical design within the power or building services sector.
- Proficiency in design software such as Revit, and electrical design tools such as ETAP and Trimble.
- Good understanding of UK building regulations, standards, and codes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to sustainability and innovative design.
