Overview
As an Air Quality Managing Consultant, you lead complex dispersion modelling and environmental impact projects within Ramboll’s Air and Climate Service Line. You’ll mentor junior staff, manage project delivery, and advise clients through strategy, approvals, and implementation. The role spans cross-regional collaboration and digital innovation to improve air quality services. You’ll shape solutions for regulatory and client challenges and contribute to Ramboll’s national air quality capability with technical excellence.

Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver complex air quality dispersion modelling and environmental impact assessments using regulatory and specialist models (AERMOD, CALPUFF, CALMET, GRAL/GRAMM, TAPM, WRF)
- Deliver on project scope, schedule, budget, resources and quality to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
- Provide senior QA/QC review and technical oversight of modelling analyses, inventories, impact assessments and technical reports
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients throughout project lifecycle and engage with regulators on behalf of clients
- Mentor junior to mid-level staff with technical guidance and career development support
- Contribute to proposals, scopes of work and business development for air quality services
- Coordinate with Australian, APAC, and global teams to support digital delivery and cross-region collaboration
- Lead delivery of air quality projects within the Australian Air and Climate Service Line
Key requirements
- Bachelor in Environmental Science or related field
- Minimum 10 years experience in air dispersion modelling and impact assessment
- Proficiency with AERMET, AERMOD, CALMET, CALPUFF, GRAMM, GRAL, TAPM, WRF
- Experience in developing air, odour and GHG emissions inventories
- Strong report writing and client engagement skills
- Experience in ambient air quality monitoring or related fields is advantageous
- GIS (ArcGIS Pro), Surfer, R, Python, and MS Power BI familiarity is desirable
