In this role you will lead mechanical engineering delivery for complex healthcare projects, shaping resilient, low‑carbon building services and coordinating digital delivery. You will mentor multidisciplinary teams, engage with clients, and drive sustainable design across UK and international projects. The position combines hands‑on engineering excellence with leadership to uphold Ramboll’s design standards and client relationships. Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design and delivery for healthcare projects from concept to handover
- Manage, mentor and develop small to medium mechanical teams
- Oversee MEP coordination and BIM delivery using Revit/BIM 360 and tools (MagiCad, IES)
- Produce and review detailed design calculations, specifications, and drawings
- Act as client-facing technical lead in project meetings and client relationships
- Manage project scope, resources, and delivery; identify and mitigate technical and commercial risks
- Support business development with proposals, technical inputs and thought leadership
- Champion sustainability and zero-carbon design; drive QA and continuous improvement
- Promote Ramboll’s profile through collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and external partners
Key requirements
- Degree in mechanical/building services engineering or related discipline
- Eligibility for or progress towards MCIBSE/MIMechE/MIHEEM; chartership support provided
- Strong Revit/BIM 360 capabilities; familiarity with MEP tools
- Proven track record delivering mechanical building services on UK healthcare or high‑resilience projects
- Experience leading project teams and cross‑functional delivery
- Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects
- Clear, confident communicator with client-facing skills
- Autonomous, self‑starter with ability to balance technical work and client relationships
