As Associate Structural Engineer in Ramboll’s UK Healthcare Team, you will shape structural solutions for hospital projects and healthcare facilities across the UK.
You collaborate with cross‑disciplinary experts to deliver design excellence and sustainable, zero‑carbon solutions.

Responsibilities
- Support leadership and development of the UK Healthcare Team's Structural Engineers
- Manage your own projects from concept to detailed design
- Act as structural engineering project manager to allocate resources and meet deadlines
- Collaborate with MEP, civils and geo-tech colleagues across disciplines
- Develop and oversee structural engineering concepts and design philosophies
- Liaise with clients and collaborators, representing Ramboll at project meetings
- Communicate designs to team members and construction sites
- Implement best practice to enhance sustainable, zero‑carbon advisory and design services
- Visit sites to support engineering designs or review works in progress
- Participate in technical groups and team meetings to drive improvement
- Lead team improvement initiatives
- Raise the profile and reputation of the UK Healthcare Team
- Key requirements
- Must have demonstratable experience with UK Healthcare sector projects
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Chartered Engineer status or qualifications to achieve Chartered status
- Excellent project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects of varying size/complexity
- Appreciation of project commercial and technical risks
- Experience of digital and parametric design
- Knowledge of assessment, retrofit and alteration of existing structures
- Knowledge of construction supervision, building investigation and structural testing
- Forward thinking about digital design innovation and ‘smart design’ in a digitised construction arena
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
