Senior/Principal/Associate Civil/Structural Engineer

We have an expanding portfolio of projects in the energy and industrial sectors. We are seeking an experienced Civil or Structural Engineer to join our Global multidisciplinary Industry and Infrastructure Facilities team. The successful candidate will lead the structural design of buildings in energy and industrial projects, assist in upskilling team members, ensure structural integrity, and optimize designs.
The role is primarily office-based with hybrid working options, located in one of our offices in Manchester, London, Leeds, Chester, Southampton, or Bristol. Occasional travel to client and project sites will be required.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing structural engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Following project delivery models such as FEED/FEL, DED, and OE stages.
- Designing structural systems for energy and industrial facilities, including manufacturing and production buildings, substations, power stations, and infrastructure.
- Performing structural analysis and detailed design to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
- Developing innovative engineering solutions to enhance performance and reduce costs.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including architectural, mechanical, electrical, and process engineers.
- Preparing technical reports, documentation, and proposals.
- Mentoring and upskilling junior engineers.
- Staying updated with industry trends and technologies.
- Supporting business development and tendering activities.
Qualifications & experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Chartered Engineer status with IStructE or ICE.
- At least 7 years (senior/principal) or 10 years (associate) of industry experience in structural engineering, specifically in energy and industrial projects.
- Experience with substation design, buildings, and relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
Skills and competencies:
- Strong knowledge of structural design principles, materials, and construction methods.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as ETABS, TSD, Robot, or similar.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Project management and multitasking abilities.
