Role Purpose: The Head of AI – Buildings is responsible for accelerating the application of artificial intelligence across Ramboll’s Buildings Global Business Area to materially improve project delivery, productivity, and client outcomes. The role bridges strategy and delivery, ensuring AI is defined strategically and translated into practical, adopted solutions embedded within projects, disciplines, and service lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive AI-Enabled Project Delivery Transformation: Engage with engineering teams, project leaders and clients to identify opportunities where AI can improve planning, design, coordination, assurance and handover. Translate real project challenges into AI-enabled interventions that improve productivity, quality and consistency. Embed AI into core delivery workflows. Support major bids and strategic projects with AI-enabled approaches.
- Build and Scale AI Solutions: Lead identification, prioritisation and development of high-value AI use cases. Drive the journey from concept to pilot to scaled adoption. Establish repeatable scaling approaches. Champion a culture of rapid experimentation.
- Lead Multidisciplinary AI Delivery Capability: Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams. Work with Ramboll Tech to ensure infrastructure and tools are fit for purpose. Enable collaboration between central capabilities and project delivery. Provide direction on agile ways of working.
- Establish the Conditions for Adoption and Impact: Build networks, communities of practice and AI ambassadors. Ensure pilots translate into sustained adoption. Reduce friction in scaling. Promote a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement.
- Shape AI Governance, Risk and Responsible Use: Engage with Group AI governance and risk teams. Contribute to organisational processes and assurance approaches. Ensure AI solutions have appropriate controls and accountability. Balance innovation with risk management.
- Develop and Leverage the External AI Ecosystem: Identify, assess and engage external partners. Navigate procurement and pilot processes. Build a curated ecosystem of partners. Bring external innovation into practical application.
- Contribute to Strategic Alignment Across Tech and Buildings: Act as interface between Buildings IDT and Ramboll Tech. Provide feedback from project delivery into product evolution. Support shaping of broader digital and AI strategy. Ensure Buildings demonstrates the value of AI within Ramboll.
