Your new role

At Ramboll, we’re looking for a Senior Wind Analyst - Team Lead. The role will see you undertake analysis and advisory work alongside promoting our services direct to clients and taking on responsibility for the technical quality and accuracy of commercial output. Additionally, you will provide management support, leadership and mentorship to Glasgow-based members of the team. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to our industry-leading research and development projects. To support this and enable you to nurture the team directly you will be expected to be present in the office at least 3 days a week.

As part of the Ramboll global Site & Yield team, you will be working with one of the industry’s most experienced and well-respected wind and solar analysis teams who have a dynamic and ambitious approach to the field. The team consists of around 60 members in 7 countries and is part of the Ramboll Wind organisation, with around 700 colleagues around the globe. Many Site & Yield team members have more than 10 years’ experience in wind or solar analysis and have previously worked at leading consultancies, developers, operators, and turbine manufacturers. We are also committed to recruiting and developing the wind and solar analysts of the future. Our team is vibrant, innovative and supportive. Close collaborative links between the Site & Yield and Transaction Advisory (SYTA) teams and other projects teams enable Ramboll to provide a wide range of high-quality advisory services by combining multiple specialist skills to assist clients in the successful development, financing, delivery and operation of the renewable energy projects driving the energy transition.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Undertaking wind and/or solar analysis and providing a range of technical advisory services related to energy yield analysis, such as due diligence of 3rd party energy yield assessment reports and advising on wind and solar measurement campaigns.
  • Business development, promoting our services and those of the wider Ramboll Wind and Solar organisation directly to our current clients and your existing network.
  • Supporting the management of the Site and Yield team to inspire and provide technical development and mentoring of peers and junior staff based in Glasgow.
  • Ensuring our clients receive high-quality technical deliverables for onshore and offshore wind farm and/or solar projects globally.
  • Assist in the development of analysis methods, tools and products suitable for current and future renewable energy projects and contributing to our global R&D strategy.

About you

Relevant experience in financial-grade wind and/or solar energy yield assessment, ideally supported by a degree in a relevant STEM subject. Relevant experience in technical project management. Excellent communication and reporting skills. Confidence in providing technical advisory related to wind and/or solar analysis to a range of technical and non-technical clients. Ability to work as part of a diverse and international team. Enthusiasm to support the development of staff across the team.

Desirable but not a necessity:

  • Business development experience in the renewables industry.
  • Advanced computing skills.
  • Experience using one or more core energy yield analysis packages such as WindFarmer, WindPRO or Openwind.
  • Programming know-how, specifically in Python and/or agentic AI.
  • Fluid dynamics and wind flow modelling.
