Role Description
The Operations Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Chelmsford. This position is responsible for coordinating daily logistics operations, including scheduling shipments, monitoring transit times, and ensuring accurate documentation for road, sea, and air freight. The Operations Specialist works closely with internal teams, customers, and external partners to manage warehousing activities, track orders, resolve operational issues, and support customs clearance processes. The role also involves maintaining updated records in logistics systems, supporting continuous process improvements, and contributing to service quality and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Strong Analytical Skills to interpret logistics data, monitor performance metrics, and support process optimization.
- Effective Communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, customers, and external partners and manage daily operational updates.
- Sales awareness and customer service orientation to support commercial activities and maintain positive client relationships.
- Operations Management skills to coordinate shipments, warehousing, and customs-related tasks efficiently.
- Project Management capabilities to support cross-functional initiatives, manage timelines, and ensure successful implementation of operational improvements.
- Proficiency with logistics software and MS Office tools, especially Excel, for tracking and reporting.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to handle documentation and multiple concurrent tasks.
- Prior experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation operations is preferred.
- Relevant education in logistics, business, supply chain management, or a related field is beneficial.
