An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer at our Milton Keynes tray wash facility. Ralph Coleman International are part of the IFCO group, a leading company in tray washing for retail supermarkets. The company has undergone a major multi-million pound investment programme for the implementation of new equipment and automation.

The role will be accountable and responsible for the throughput and maintenance of the tray washing process machinery, ensuring its full and reliable production capability and the monitoring of CCPs for the wash process. Problem solving, continuous improvement, and preventative maintenance schedules are key requirements for this role. The role requires you to work on your own initiative covering a 12-hour shift from 6 to 6 on rotating days and nights on a Panama-based pattern.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure efficient running of the tray washing process and equipment, limiting unplanned downtime.
  • Be accountable and responsible for the condition and reliability of the production equipment, ensuring it performs its function safely (all guards in place, etc.).
  • Identify potential issues before they happen and have the skills to rectify/avoid unplanned stoppages.
  • Make short-term fixes where necessary and plan for long-term solutions.
  • Maintain a high quality of work, testing and checking after completion to avoid repeated returns to the same issue.
  • Work with minimal supervision, having the skills to rectify issues as required.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities within the process.
  • Record and monitor quality process parameters, ensuring required levels are clearly defined (TF024), and report any issues.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance correctly and maintain records accordingly.
  • Collaborate with all maintenance team members, passing over all information of any issues to other shifts.
  • Work with the machine minder, ensuring communication between engineering and operations.

Applicants should have a qualification in electrical engineering, preferably having completed a time-served apprenticeship and possess 5 years of experience in an automation environment. The skill base should be 70/30% bias in electrical engineering. Our compensation package includes a competitive salary, holiday allowance, pension, overtime, and bonus scheme.
