Purpose of Position:
Supply Chain is responsible for the purchase of goods and services at the point of use considering Quality, Cost and Delivery
Materials are responsible for:

Receipt and distribution within the facility of component and sub assy materials.

Replenishment of component materials to the Production Cells.
-
Backflushing of manufactured finished goods into the warehouse.
-
Despatch and invoicing of finished goods via the appropriate freight courier.
-
Stock control and cycle count policy.
Essential Functions:
-
Provide visible and consistent leadership to the Materials and Logistics team, ensuring clear priorities, effective workload management and defined ownership of roles and responsibilities.

Coach, mentor and develop direct reports through regular feedback, skills development, adherence to standard work and structured performance discussions.

Ensure domestic and international shipping activities are completed accurately, compliantly and on time, including export documentation, commodity coding, customs requirements, export controls and courier selection.

Lead effective daily stand-up meetings to review safety, quality, delivery, inventory, priorities, constraints and actions, ensuring the team understands expectations and escalates issues in a timely manner.

Maintain robust inventory and stock control processes, including stock accuracy, replenishment, warehouse discipline, action bin audits, cycle counting and issue resolution.

Provide accurate monthly reporting on team performance, stock control, logistics performance, back orders, Despatch performance, process adherence and improvement activity.

Drive continuous improvement (kaizen) across materials handling, stores, Despatch and replenishment processes through practical problem solving and standard work.

Problem solving shipping issues by liaising with carriers for both inbound and outbound shipments.

Develop relationships with Carriers Local Account managers to improve efficiency.
Critical Success Factors:

Practical awareness of Health and Safety requirements, including manual handling, warehouse safety and good environmental practices.

Experience of SAP or a comparable ERP system within a logistics, stores, materials or supply chain environment.

Strong understanding of inventory management/rotation/FIFO, stock accuracy, replenishment, cycle count and stock control processes.

Knowledge of problem-solving, continuous improvement and standard work practices.
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and reporting tools.

Confident people leader with the ability to coach, mentor, develop and engage others

Able to work cross functionally with other internal departments, and where necessary, external customers

Able to establish clear expectations, delegate effectively and hold the team accountable for delivery.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to conduct effective daily stand-up meetings and escalate risks clearly.

Solid financial acumen around material price, freight methods and departmental spend.
-
High attention to detail, particularly in shipping documentation, stock accuracy and reporting.

Effective time management, personal organization and ability to prioritize within a fast-paced operational environment.

Demonstrates ownership, resilience and a continuous improvement mindset.
