The Opportunity
Qualitrol is seeking a senior, strategic HR leader to serve as the Human Resources Business Partner for our Belfast manufacturing site and Projects & Services organization. This role is designed for an HR professional who operates with an enterprise-level perspective, brings the courage to challenge and influence senior leaders, and is motivated by shaping business outcomes. This role will co‑own site and functional performance outcomes by aligning people strategy with operational execution, project delivery, and global services performance. As Qualitrol continues its evolution toward a systems‑ and services‑led business, this leader will ensure that organizational structure, leadership capability, and talent depth are in place to enable predictable delivery, profitable growth, and margin performance.
Initially focused on Belfast Manufacturing and Projects & Services, this role carries a clear expectation to expand scope across Europe as the business scales, making it an ideal opportunity for a high‑calibre HR leader seeking both impact and growth. This position reports to the VP of Human Resources (U.S.-based) and partners closely with the VP, Projects & Services (Belfast‑based), operating as a true thought partner to the regional leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnership & Business Impact
- Act as a trusted HR advisor and strategic partner to site and functional leaders, with the authority to challenge, influence, and shape leadership decisions impacting organizational effectiveness, workforce capability, and business performance.
- Co‑own business outcomes by aligning people strategy with operational, project, and services execution to support delivery reliability, growth, and margin performance.
- Ensure leadership and talent capabilities are in place to support predictable execution, scalability, and long‑term competitiveness, while fully aligned with the business mandate.
- Organizational Design, Role Clarity & Execution
- Partner with leaders to translate business strategy into clear organizational structures, roles, and accountabilities, enabling faster decision‑making and improved delivery performance.
- Lead organizational design and workforce planning initiatives that support manufacturing excellence, project execution, and global services delivery.
- Establish clarity where complexity exists to help leaders move from ambiguity to execution.
- Leadership, Talent & Succession
- Build and sustain robust succession and talent pipelines for critical leadership and technical roles.
- Drive leadership effectiveness through clear expectations, consistent leadership behaviours, and targeted development pathways aligned to Qualitrol’s operating model.
- Provide executive‑level coaching to senior leaders, supporting performance, transitions, and effectiveness in a demanding operational environment.
- Transformation & Change Leadership
- Lead and support organizational change initiatives associated with Qualitrol’s evolution toward a systems‑ and services‑led business.
- Ensure leaders and teams adopt new ways of working effectively and sustainably, embedding change rather than managing around it.
- Serve as a stabilizing force during periods of growth, transformation, and operational pressure.
- Employee Relations & Governance
- Lead complex employee and labour relations with confidence, fairness, and credibility, ensuring full compliance with Northern Ireland employment law.
- Balance decisiveness with empathy, ensuring employee relations outcomes protect both people and performance.
- Enterprise & Global Collaboration
- Partner with regional and global HR teams to deliver consistent, high‑quality HR solutions within an Operating Company / Parent Company shared‑services model.
- Use people and organizational data to diagnose performance issues, inform workforce decisions, and improve engagement and retention.
What We’re Looking For
- Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Chartered MCIPD (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a senior HR leader, influencing VP‑level stakeholders and navigating complex, ambiguous business environments.
- Proven experience as an HR Business Partner in a manufacturing, projects, or operational environment.
- Strong, practical knowledge of Northern Ireland employment and labour law.
- Track record of managing complex employee relations matters with courage, judgment, and credibility.
- Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and hands‑on levels.
- Desirable
- Experience supporting or leading HR across multiple European countries, or strong learning agility and aspiration to expand regional scope.
- Experience supporting business transformation, operating‑model shifts, or services‑led growth.
What Success Looks Like (12–24 Month Horizon)
- Clear succession and talent pipelines exist for critical leadership and technical roles.
- Leadership capability and engagement metrics show sustained improvement year over year.
- Organizational structure and role clarity enable faster decision‑making and improved delivery performance.
