Company Description

Raising Youth was originally established as a community group in July 2019 to spread awareness of services available to young individuals and signpost where necessary. We began to grow towards providing our own services that you see today and as a result was registered as a Community Interest Company in April 2020. Raising Youth is run completely by volunteers both behind the scenes and frontline. We provide services to support individuals aged for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or Mental Health (MH) conditions. Our services cover a wide range of topics ranging from Mental Health, Employment, Education & Daily Life.

Job Description

The Youth Project Worker position is essential to the company’s operations. Youth Project Workers deliver the company’s services to its young people. Day to day duties of a post holder may include; but are not limited to:

  • Work with children and young people to deliver our services
  • Facilitating activities as directed by the Hub and Services Manager
  • Communicate with parents/carers to inform them of how their child is and report any issues from a session
  • Design fun, engaging and effective activities to be used at services
  • Work with the Hub and Services Manager to design and roll out new services
  • Provide service users with information and guidance on a range of topics
  • Work with children and young people who have Special Needs to engage them and make access arrangements for them
  • Support and Signpost families in need of additional support

No two days are ever the same at Raising Youth. You’ll be delivering our services at a range of venues and via digital channels where relevant. The ideal person for this role is a kind, caring person who wants to gain experience in working with Children and Young People. Applicants do not need any formal qualifications or training for this role as we will provide successful applicants with all the relevant training during the onboarding process. However, a background or experience in Care, Youth Work or Education could be useful for post holders. As volunteers, Youth Project Workers indicate to the company when it is possible for them to work and carry out duties. Ideally, applicants would be local to Kent and Medway however we are accepting candidates anywhere in the UK as some services can be delivered digitally.

Raising Youth CIC is committed to Safeguarding and Promoting the Welfare of children and young people and expects its staff and volunteers to share its commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check.

Qualifications

Applicants do not need any qualifications as this is an entry level job however qualifications and experience in social care, education or childcare would benefit a post holder in this role.
