Join Raised In and play a pivotal role in shaping the people, culture and working environment behind an innovative social enterprise and nursery group. As our HR Manager, you'll help ensure that the teams delivering exceptional early years education have the support, systems and leadership they need to thrive.
We're a not-for-personal-profit social enterprise with a clear mission: to provide the very best early years education while investing in the communities we serve. Every surplus we generate is reinvested back into the communities where our nurseries operate, helping families, community organisations and neighbourhoods thrive.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced HR professional who can help strengthen our people practices, support our managers and build an exceptional employee experience across the organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity for a people-focused HR professional who enjoys bringing strategy to life, improving working practices and providing practical support to managers. You'll play a key role in ensuring that our people processes, systems and culture support the continued growth and success of Raised In.
About us: We set up Raised In ten years ago because we wanted to help communities thrive and prosper in challenging times. Through our network of nurseries, we support local families whilst generating income that helps sustain valuable community spaces across Bristol. When our nurseries succeed, our communities benefit too.
The role: Reporting to the CEO, you'll provide operational HR leadership across the organisation, helping translate our people strategy into effective day-to-day delivery. You'll be the go-to HR expert for managers, providing advice, guidance and support across a wide range of people matters. This is a broad and varied role covering employee relations, HR operations, compliance, reporting, systems management and people development. You'll also line manage our Talent Resourcing & HR Partnerships Manager and play an important role in ensuring our employee experience is consistent, supportive and aligned with our values.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Leading the implementation of people priorities and HR projects across the organisation
- Supporting managers with employee relations matters including absence, performance management, disciplinaries, grievances and investigations
- Managing more complex HR cases and ensuring best practice and legal compliance
- Reviewing and developing HR policies and procedures
- Acting as superuser for Moorepay, supporting effective HR and payroll processes
- Producing HR reports and providing meaningful people insights to senior leaders
- Line managing and supporting the Talent Resourcing & HR Partnerships Manager
- Driving improvements in employee experience, consistency and organisational culture
Why work with us? We really value our expert team. As well as offering competitive pay in a friendly and supportive environment, you'll receive lots of great benefits:

- Employer pension contribution
- Refer a Friend bonus scheme
- 28 days holiday including bank holidays (pro rata)
- Your Birthday off and an Annual Wellbeing Day
- Plus 3 extra days off between Christmas and New Year
- 24/7 access to a remote GP for you and your family
- The opportunity to make a genuine difference in a purpose-driven organisation
What about you? You're an experienced HR professional who enjoys building positive working relationships and helping organisations create environments where people can thrive. You'll be equally comfortable providing advice on a complex employee relations case, reviewing policies, analysing workforce data or supporting managers through change. You're organised, pragmatic and proactive, with the confidence to take ownership and see projects through to completion. Most importantly, you'll share our commitment to collaboration, inclusion and making a positive difference to children, families and communities.
