Rainham Village Primary School and Nursery is looking for kind, patient individuals to join our dedicated team of Learning Support Assistants to support children with complex needs across the whole school (Nursery to Year 6). These positions will initially be until 31st August 2027 and will be reviewed considering pupil mobility.
Candidates must have experience of working with children with SEND. Experience of working with children who are neurodiverse and a good knowledge of phonics is essential. This is a dual role incorporating some small group intervention work in the classroom and some 1:1 high‑needs support within the class. The time allocated to each role will be dependent upon the needs of the class, year groups and our new September intake.
The role is for 32.5 hours per week, 8.15am to 3.15pm with a 30-minute lunch break – these times are non‑negotiable. We are looking for someone who is caring, has a positive outlook and can work both independently and as part of a team. If you have good communication skills, are friendly and resilient and have an aptitude for working with children who are neurodiverse then please contact us to visit our setting.
The School is a 2‑form entry Primary School, expanding to 3 forms over the coming years. We have our own Nursery accepting children on 15 and 30 hour placements. The School is well resourced and has a friendly supportive staff. We have enthusiastic, hard‑working children who enjoy learning. There is a strong partnership between governors, staff, parents, pupils and the local community. We value continuous professional learning, development and improvement.
