Following significant investment in their site, they are now looking to appoint an experienced
Manufacturing Planning Manager who can make an immediate impact and help drive the next stage of operational growth.
This is a key leadership opportunity for a candidate with a strong manufacturing process background, the confidence to hit the ground running, and the ability to take ownership of production planning, operational control, quality, safety and continuous improvement.
We are seeking a hands-on, commercially aware manufacturing professional who can lead day-to-day production activity while supporting the wider leadership team in delivering service excellence to existing and future customers.
The successful candidate will bring proven experience across manufacturing operations, planning systems, stock visibility, process improvement and team leadership.
He or she will also have strong experience across metal fabrication and pre-assembly.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the entire manufacturing process, from raw materials to final product.
- Strong experience across metal fabrication and pre-assembly.
- Develop and implement production plans to meet company goals.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as throughput, downtime, waste, and productivity.
- Develop and execute long-term strategies to improve efficiency, capacity, and output.
- Design and implement the successful launch of the Doncaster facility
- Manage manufacturing budgets and ensure cost-effective operations.
- Identify and implement cost-reduction strategies without compromising quality or safety.
- Drive lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure manufacturing processes meet quality standards (e. g., ISO, GMP).
- Ensure a safe working environment in accordance with OSHA and other regulatory bodies.
- Implement EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) protocols and conduct audits.
- Prepare regular reports on production metrics, challenges, and improvements.
- Production Process Knowledge – Deep understanding of manufacturing operations (e. g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
- Equipment & Machinery – Familiarity with the tools, equipment, and technology used in the manufacturing process.
- Quality Control Systems – Ability to implement and manage quality assurance procedures.
- Project Management – Planning and executing production schedules and improvement projects.
- Inventory & Supply Chain Management – Understanding of logistics and materials management.
