Our client supplies a range of warehousing and distribution services to many household name, blue chip companies in the retail, hospitality and banking sectors. They have recently moved into a purpose built, state of the art facility that substantially increases and enhances their ability to deliver service excellence to both their existing and future customers.
The Logistics Commercial Manager will be responsible for driving commercial performance within the logistics function by managing customer contracts, pricing strategies, revenue growth and profitability. The role bridges operations and sales, ensuring logistics services are competitively priced, commercially viable and aligned with customer requirements and business objectives.
They will have a commercial understanding of key activities carried out by the company which range through warehousing, transport, recycling and installation. Sample responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and manage pricing models, rate cards, and commercial proposals for logistics services.
- Negotiate customer contracts, service-level agreements (SLAs), and renewals to maximize profitability.
- Monitor revenue, margins, and cost-to-serve, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare commercial forecasts, budgets, and performance reports.
- Build relationships with customers, understanding the company's wallet spend and opportunities for growth.
- Identify new business opportunities and support tender and RFP responses.
- Produce reporting across all work streams to support operational teams’ decision making.
