Rainford Berry is recruiting on behalf of a leading independent consultancy for a Regional Director of Project Management to lead and grow its project management service line across the North of England. Based primarily in Manchester, with responsibility for Leeds, this is a senior leadership role combining business development, client relationship management and hands-on project delivery.
The successful candidate will work with senior leaders to shape strategy, drive regional growth and maintain consistently high standards of service delivery. The role will involve securing work from new and existing clients and delivering high-profile projects across sectors including industrial, office, purpose-built student accommodation and build to rent. Candidates should bring an established client base and a proven ability to generate fee income.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading business development, marketing and growth across Manchester and Leeds
- Driving excellence in project delivery, quality control and best practice
- Developing and delivering service line business plans and performance targets
- Promoting the service to new and existing clients
- Mentoring, coaching and developing team members
Experience and requirements:
- Relevant degree-level qualification; MRICS preferred
- Strong project management expertise and hands-on technical delivery experience
- Established client base with the ability to win work and generate new instructions
- Confident client-facing approach with strong influencing, leadership and communication skills
- Commercially focused, with experience achieving financial targets and supporting team performance
Knowledge:
- Strong awareness of commercial property challenges, market trends and relevant statutory requirements, including the Building Safety Act
- Commitment to ongoing personal development and continuous improvement
