A Mechanical Project Manager with exceptional communication and customer service skills is required for a very successful interior fit out group. The opportunity has arisen due to the continued growth of the business and the constant increase in high profile client accounts that are being secured. The Mechanical Project Manager will have a good level of experience and a strong track record of success. The role will include managing small and large full mechanical projects, planning tasks, sourcing labour and equipment, engaging with clients and ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of progress. The Mechanical Project Manager will be working on projects of varied size, scope and nature for prestigious clients in the retail/banking sector.
Responsibilities:
- Manage technical projects from initiation to completion.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Lead and coordinate the activities of site teams.
- Communicate project status to the project team.
- Identify and resolve project risks and issues.
- Develop and implement strategies for successful project delivery.
- Ensure that all project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Attend site surveys and produce detailed Site Audit Reports to aid project scope and costing.
- Engage successfully with suppliers & contractors.
- Manage and expand sub-contractor base.
- Demand high levels of health and safety across all projects.
Requirements:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent ability to present concepts to diverse audiences with great clarity.
- Ability to achieve positive results while working independently.
- Competent with Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, or 10 years of field experience in mechanical construction plumbing and/or HVAC.
- Ability to implement and oversee technologies such as BIM and LEAN principles.
- Revit, AutoCAD, Trimble, and MS Office a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Plumbing - 2 of these as a minimum would be sufficient.
