Our client supplies a wide range of manufacturing, warehousing, distribution and installation services to many household name, blue chip companies in the retail, hospitality and banking sectors. They have recently moved into a purpose built, state of the art facility that substantially increases and enhances their ability to deliver service excellence to both existing and future customers.
The Program Manager (DRS) is responsible for successfully delivering major rollout programs, via the company’s wider logistics framework. He or she will oversee the Contract Managers, warehouse and assembly teams to deliver a profitable program, while exceeding customer expectation. They will own the end-to-end reporting of the program, providing regular communications on service, cost, profitability and customer satisfaction. This is a customer facing role and the Program Manager (DRS) will build collaborative relationships with the customer project teams.
Sample responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Concept and Solution Design: Working collaboratively with the design and engineering team you will work to produce a concept that harnesses the company’s strength in preassembly, ensuring we can safely deliver a fully assembled unit. You will produce a customer plan detailing how we will transport, deliver and install for individual customers. You will ensure the commercial plan reflects this.
- Warehouse Operations: You will oversee the warehouse operations for your assigned programs. You will maintain weekly stock counts and understand any variances in inventory. Your team will manage the kitting process physically and systematically ensuring assembly teams are supplied with equipment in a timely manner to maintain the assembly schedule.
- Site Assembly Operations: Through the assembly team you will ensure units are assembled correctly and to the correct quality standards. You will ensure the assembly schedule is planned to meet the despatch and install plan. The team under your leadership will ensure all systems are maintained in a timely manner, providing reliable data. You will ensure a robust QC process is in place prior to loading out of all units.
- Contract Manager Management: You will manage Contract Managers who, as the customers first point of contact, are ambassadors for the company / group. In conjunction with the commercial management team, you will review commercial performance weekly, ensuring the contract managers are delivering expected margin. You will hold monthly reviews with all customers to temperature check satisfaction.
- End to end Supply Chain Management: You will understand the stock demand and the end-to-end procurement plan. You will review stock profile and flag any risk to program at the earliest point.
- Financial Performance and Reporting: Monitor contract profitability and revenue performance. Report weekly P and L performance and KPI data for all operations. Maintain all KPI data for operations and use this data to support continuous improvement across all operations, contracts and sites. Work with teams to analyse margins, cost drivers, and profitability by project and customer.
- Customer Ownership: Work closely with the operations teams to ensure service delivery aligns with commercial commitments. Build and maintain relationships across the full customer base.
Skills & Experience Required:
- 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, operations, or program management.
- Strong knowledge of transportation management, warehousing, inventory control, preassembly and distribution operations.
- Proven experience managing large-scale logistics programs or operational projects.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in MRP systems, transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
