This is an excellent hybrid opportunity for an experienced and capable Design Planner to join an industry leading fit-out contractor. Our client provides a range of resources and solutions to a whole host of blue-chip clients across the retail, banking, hospitality and commercial sectors.
The Design Planner is responsible for the development and delivery of design information across commercial fit-out projects, ensuring solutions are functional, compliant, coordinated and aligned with the company’s and its clients’ standards. Working as part of the wider project delivery team, the Design Planner will support projects from early concept through to construction and handover, producing accurate and coordinated drawings, using AutoCAD and Revit, while operating within a highly governed and regulated client environment.
Suitable candidates will have proven experience of working as a Designer on commercial (ideally retail, or better still banking) fit-out projects and will have strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit. Further, they will be well versed in producing coordinated mechanical and electrical design information and have a good understanding of Building Regulations and services compliance.

A Sample of Key Roles and Responsibilities Includes:
- Produce design information across all RIBA stages, from concept through to technical detailing and construction support.
- Develop layouts, detailed drawings, and models that respond to client briefs, operational requirements, and project constraints.
- Translate client standards and brand requirements into clear, buildable design solutions.
- Ensure designs support programme, cost, buildability, and operational requirements.
- Develop and maintain accurate AutoCAD and Revit drawings and models in line with company modelling and drawing standards.
- Coordinate architectural information with structural, MEP, and specialist trade inputs.
- Maintain drawing registers and manage revisions in line with project and PMO controls.
- Support clash detection, coordination reviews, and design issue resolution.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Design Managers, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure coordinated and compliant design output.
- Ensure designs comply with Building Regulations, relevant British Standards, and client technical standards.
- Support delivery in line with the Building Safety Act 2022, maintaining clear and traceable design information.
- Support client design reviews, workshops, and approvals as required.
- Respond to design comments and changes in line with client governance and change control processes.
- Produce design information suitable for use in regulated banking environments and live operational buildings.
