A creative, dynamic and adaptable Finance Director is required for a well-established yet fast-growing group of companies.
Our client is a leading Interior Fit Out, Manufacturing & Logistics business operating across the UK, with revenues North of £150 Million and an enviable Blue Chip client base across the retail, banking, commercial and leisure sectors.
The group acts as Principal Contractor or Specialist Sub-contractor on schemes, with projects ranging in value from £0.5m to £10m. Both the diversity of the group and the multiplicity of the projects is such that the need for the FD to be robust, inquisitive, challenging and flexible is very real.
He or She will manage the financial health of the company, regulatory compliance, and strategic alignment with company objectives. This role involves collaboration with senior leadership and management of the finance team to drive company-wide financial performance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company and project goals.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Manage cash flow forecasts.
• Oversee inventory / stock holding of circa £20m – both business owned and client owned.
• Undertake data analysis / reporting with a view to improving efficiency and process.
• Work with operational teams and help to road map and implement process change to reduce costs and improve productivity.
• Oversee accounting, payroll, and treasury with a focus on cost control.
• Establish internal controls and support audit processes.
• Provide financial oversight for all projects /services, including profitability and cost control.
• Collaborate with Commercial & Operations managers to align budgets and forecasts with operational targets.
• Lead the finance team, fostering growth and promoting a high-performance culture.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and manage relationships with auditors and regulatory bodies.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Fully Qualified in Professional Finance Qualification – ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• 10 years of experience in a similar financial role.
• Demonstrable drive, energy and a commitment to the continuous improvement of overall contract performance.
• Proactive and inquisitive with a passion for challenging teams to drive performance.
• An ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards.
• Excellent customer relationship skills with the ability to develop good working interactions at all levels.
• Ability to demonstrate previous relevant experience in contracting, manufacturing & logistics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and analytic software; ability to perform database collection, use software programs to gather data for modelling.
• Experience with large databases and the ability to utilize data from various BI systems
• Ability to research and assess suitability of relevant IT systems – e.g. ERP and MRP – and to work with IT to ensure successful business outcomes.
