Take the next step in your Advanced Clinical Practice career
Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People is seeking either:
- A qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) with experience in children's palliative and end-of-life care; or
- A Trainee ACP who is already progressing through a recognised ACP training pathway and is looking to develop advanced practice skills within a specialist children's palliative care setting.
This is not a traditional nursing role. We are looking for clinicians who can demonstrate advanced clinical decision-making, assessment and management skills and who are committed to developing or practising at Advanced Clinical Practitioner level.
Who we're looking for
For the Band 8a ACP role, you will:
- Be a qualified ACP working at Master's level practice.
- Hold a non-medical prescribing qualification.
- Have experience assessing, diagnosing and managing complex clinical presentations.
- Be able to work autonomously across hospice, community and hospital settings.
For the Band 7 Trainee ACP role, you will:
- Be actively undertaking an Advanced Clinical Practice training programme.
- Have already completed a recognised postgraduate Clinical Assessment and Examination Skills module.
- Hold a non-medical prescribing qualification.
- Demonstrate a clear commitment to progressing towards ACP accreditation and autonomous practice.
About the role
Working across hospice, community and hospital settings, you will provide expert clinical assessment, symptom management and palliative care for babies, children and young people with complex and life-limiting conditions.
You will be supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team including our Nurse Consultant, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Support Workers and Therapists. For trainee ACPs, extensive supervision, clinical support and development opportunities will be provided to enable progression towards qualified ACP status.
This vacancy will remain open until filled.
We're keen to hear from both qualified ACPs and those progressing through an ACP training pathway. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and we aim to provide an update to all candidates within 10 working days of their application.
All positions are subject to an enhanced and barred DBS check.
The demand for the incredible care Rainbows provides is increasing and is more important than ever. Come and be part of something amazing. Come and be part of the Rainbow.
