This vital work would not be possible without our dedicated Income Generation and Marketing Team. Through fundraising, events, communications, and supporter engagement, the team plays a crucial role in generating the income and awareness needed to ensure Rainbows can continue providing outstanding care and support to babies, children, young people, and their families.

We're excited to announce an opportunity for an Events Coordinator to join our Events Team who organise a variety of fundraising and supporter events to help fund Rainbows' services!

As our Events Coordinator, you will support the Senior Events Officer in delivering fundraising and awareness-raising events. You will help coordinate our established programme of events, including the Derby Cathedral Abseil, Santa Run, and Skydive, while also contributing to the development of new opportunities and experiences for supporters. These events are designed to maximize income, participation, and engagement, helping Rainbows provide vital support to babies, children, young people, and their families.

  • Event Organisation: Assist the Senior Events Officer in the planning and execution of a range of events to meet or exceed income and engagement targets, while carefully managing expenditure to achieve return on investment (ROI) targets.
  • Supporter Experience Management: Coordinate and deliver engaging supporter journeys for event participants, ensuring they receive timely information, feel supported throughout their fundraising journey, and have a positive experience from registration to event day.
  • Financial and KPI Management: Maintain accurate financial, participant, and key performance indicator (KPI) records for events, ensuring supporter information is recorded and managed effectively. Support the Senior Events Officer in monitoring event performance, producing detailed reports as required.
  • Cross Department and Third Party Collaboration: Contribute to the delivery of Rainbows-hosted and third-party events, coordinating with suppliers, colleagues, and volunteers to ensure income is maximised, expenses are minimised, and budgets are met.
  • Marketing and Promotion Support: Assist in promoting events by collaborating with the Marketing, Corporate and Community Fundraising teams to ensure participation targets are achieved.
  • Risk Management: Conduct comprehensive event risk assessments and implement plans to mitigate and manage identified risks, escalating concerns to the Senior Events Officer when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in planning and organising events
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities to meet objectives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and using a CRM database
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Exceptional attention to detail and administrative expertise
  • A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel within the region as needed
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required

Working Hours and Location: This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday) based at our Hospice in Lark Rise, Loughborough. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required to support events.
