This mid‑sized organisation and charity is looking to appoint a Neonatal Support Worker (35 hours, 5 days per week) as part of a developing programme delivering high‑quality wrap‑around care and support to families with a baby receiving treatment on the Neonatal Intensive Care units within the London & South East region. The role works collaboratively with the multi‑disciplinary team supporting the families.
Responsibilities
- Provide needs‑led emotional, social and practical support to families where a child/young person has a life‑threatening or terminal illness.
- Deliver bereavement support to families and help them process grief, loss and change.
- Work in partnership with health, education and social care professionals, reporting to the Family Support Manager of the London & South East Care Team.
- Assist in fundraising activities by writing case studies and family updates.
- Maintain accurate records and confidentiality, practising child protection, information sharing and data protection regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working in a demanding and emotional environment, ideally in a special care baby unit or community setting.
- Recognised qualification in health or social care, or equivalent experience.
- Full current driver’s licence and availability for flexible working.
- Enhanced DBS disclosure required.
