We're looking for enthusiastic and energetic volunteers to join our lively cheer point at the Great North Run on Sunday 13 September 2026 and for the Junior Great North Run on Saturday 12 September 2026. We will have our brave runners taking part in this iconic event for us and our sports team are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our cheer squad to help our runners get to the finish line!

You will be part of a lively team and will experience the atmosphere that this event brings, decked out in our eye‑catching Rainbow Trust t‑shirts and rainbow hair, all while making lots of noise!

You could be:

  • Supporting with setting up or packing down our cheer point
  • Meeting and greeting sportspeople and their families after the event
  • Being an ambassador for Rainbow Trust
  • Engaging with members of the public confidently

All volunteers will be provided with cheer materials. Our exact location on the route will be confirmed with volunteers as soon as we have finalised the details.
