Role Specification:
As a Platform Engineer (DevOps), you will be responsible for the development and support of the critical infrastructure that powers our AI decision platform. You’ll play a key role in designing and maintaining the technical foundation behind our SaaS and on‑premise solutions, ensuring they operate securely, reliably, and efficiently across multiple cloud environments. Working closely with the platform engineering team, you’ll contribute to architectural decisions that influence scalability, resilience, and operational excellence. You’ll also act as a trusted advisor on infrastructure considerations for new features, driving improvements that enhance performance and streamline delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and optimise our infrastructure across AWS and GCP, balancing simplicity, scalability, availability, performance, and cost.
- Design, implement, and continuously refine CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery while maintaining strong quality controls and deployment reliability.
- Maintain and enhance our Terraform configurations, ensuring they remain modular, reusable, and well‑documented.
- Build and evolve comprehensive monitoring and observability systems that provide real‑time insights into platform health, performance, and emerging risks.
- Support customers who self‑host the Rainbird platform within their own infrastructure. Develop clear deployment guides, automation tooling, and troubleshooting documentation to simplify installation and ongoing maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve DevOps, cloud, and infrastructure‑related issues, driving root cause analysis and long‑term improvements.
- Implement and uphold security best practices across multi‑cloud environments, ensuring compliance requirements are met and systems remain consistently protected.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools, with an understanding of how to support multiple environments.
- Practical experience in at least one major cloud provider (AWS or GCP), and an interest in working across both.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (for example GitLab CI or similar tooling).
- Experience working with Kubernetes in a production setting.
- Scripting skills (e.g. Bash, Python or similar) to support automation tasks.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (such as CloudWatch, Prometheus or similar), including dashboards and alerting.
- An understanding of core cloud security principles, including identity and access management and network security.
We don’t expect you to be an expert in all of the above. We are equally interested in your ability to learn, adapt and grow within the role.
Preferred:
- Experience working in an AI/ML or SaaS environment.
- Experience working with Go or another strongly typed language.
- Previous experience in a customer‑facing technical role.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
