We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Coordinator to join our People team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. Based in Darlington with a hybrid working approach, this role offers the chance to be part of a collaborative and evolving Talent Acquisition function where you’ll play a key role in delivering a great experience for both candidates and hiring managers.
Railpen is responsible for the safekeeping and investment of around £34 billion in assets and the administration of several pension schemes, including the Railways Pension Scheme, one of the UK's largest and longest established pension funds. Our heritage of looking after the pension needs of the rail industry and its employees gives us our name and our unique outlook on how we serve our members. Railpen takes a holistic view, focusing on how we serve members today and how we can positively impact the communities and the world they will retire into.
Working as part of the Talent Acquisition team, you’ll provide coordination and support across the full recruitment lifecycle. You’ll help ensure our processes run smoothly, our stakeholders feel well supported, and our candidates have a positive and engaging experience from application through to offer.
- Coordinate recruitment activity from vacancy approval through to offer, ensuring everything stays on track.
- Schedule interviews and assessments, managing diaries across candidates, hiring managers and the wider team.
- Act as a central point of contact for candidate and hiring manager queries, providing clear and timely communication.
- Manage and maintain candidate information within our systems, ensuring data is accurate and up to date.
- Support with reporting and tracking, helping to keep visibility of progress across campaigns.
- Work closely with Talent Acquisition Partners to ensure recruitment plans are delivered effectively.
- Help ensure our approach is consistent, inclusive and aligned to our processes and policies.
- Support the delivery of assessment activity, recruitment events and wider TA projects where needed.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines, particularly through LinkedIn, supporting proactive sourcing for both current and future hiring needs.
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is organised and detail-focused, and takes pride in delivering a high-quality service to others. We’re looking for someone who:
- Communicates clearly and confidently, both written and verbally.
- Is well organised and able to manage multiple priorities at once.
- Builds positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Takes a proactive approach and is comfortable identifying and raising improvements.
- Is comfortable using systems and keeping information accurate and up to date.
- Has experience in a coordination, administration or recruitment support role (experience in Talent Acquisition is beneficial but not essential).
- Is motivated by delivering a positive experience for candidates and colleagues.
We recognise that people may not meet every requirement listed above. If you’re interested in the role and feel you could contribute, we’d encourage you to apply. Our values of integrity, community and alignment are the guiding principles that influence our behaviour. They help us make decisions and shape our relationships with others. They’re what we stand for. You will actively demonstrate our values, helping to create a safe environment, to place the needs of the community above oneself and, through a culture of ‘fair challenge’, align to the best interests of our members.
