We’re looking for a Process Analyst to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract, supporting a key transformation programme. This is a hybrid role based in Darlington, offering the opportunity to contribute to high-impact change while working alongside collaborative and forward-thinking teams.

Railpen is responsible for the safekeeping and investment of around £34 billion in assets and the administration of several pension schemes, including the Railways Pension Scheme, one of the UK's largest and longest established pension funds. Our heritage of looking after the pension needs of the rail industry and its employees gives us our name and our unique outlook on how we serve our members. Railpen takes a holistic view, focusing on how we serve members today and how we can positively impact the communities and the world they will retire into.

As a Process Analyst, you’ll support the successful delivery of programme outcomes through detailed analysis, process documentation and close collaboration with both business and delivery teams. You’ll be responsible for capturing and documenting current (‘as is’) processes, producing structured process artefacts and supporting the development of future state solutions. Alongside this, you’ll work across workstreams to understand business needs, analyse requirements and identify dependencies and delivery impacts. You’ll play an important role in translating requirements into clear, delivery-ready outputs, contributing to programme documentation, and supporting testing, validation and implementation activity. Working with stakeholders across the organisation, you’ll help ensure solutions are robust, practical and aligned to business needs. There will also be opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement, identifying ways to enhance processes using data, digital tools and automation where appropriate.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.

We’re looking for someone with experience in a process, business or change analysis role, ideally within a programme or project environment. You’ll bring strong analytical skills, with the ability to break down complex requirements into clear, structured outputs. You’ll be confident eliciting and documenting business and process requirements, and comfortable working with a range of stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity. You’ll also have:

  • Experience of process mapping and documentation, ideally across multiple levels
  • A strong understanding of analysis techniques such as gap analysis and impact assessment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced delivery environment
  • A high level of attention to detail, with an appreciation of risk and dependencies

What we can offer you:

  • A competitive salary (depending on experience)
  • 28 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
  • Defined Contribution pension
  • Health & Wellbeing
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Health cash plan
  • Eye care vouchers
  • Flu vaccination
  • Give as you earn scheme
  • Paid volunteering days
