Railpen is responsible for the safekeeping and investment of around £34 billion in assets and the administration of several pension schemes, including the Railways Pension Scheme, one of the UK's largest and longest established pension funds.
Role Overview
This 12‑month FTC, based in the London office (hybrid), will primarily support the front‑office Order Management System (Charles River). The remainder of the time will focus on other investment applications, process improvement, upgrades, and change projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide production support for the Charles River IMS, ensuring reliable and stable systems for the investment business.
- Troubleshoot and resolve trading issues quickly and efficiently, becoming the go‑to person for resolution.
- Work on investment applications, process improvement initiatives, upgrades, and change projects.
- Deliver high‑quality support and data, allowing the investment business to perform its roles effectively.
Qualifications
- Experience in Investment Management within a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Significant production support experience meeting the varied requirements of an investment business.
- Technical background with hands‑on support of Charles River IMS, investment data, and a working knowledge of the FIX protocol.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server is a distinct advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal, patience, listening, and communication skills demonstrating the ability to balance priorities and meet deadlines.
- Legal right to work in the UK. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
