We have an incredible opportunity for a Project Manager (PM) to join our Change & Transformation (C&T) team on a permanent basis based in either the Darlington or London office (hybrid based).

Railpen is responsible for the safekeeping and investment of around £34 billion in assets and the administration of several pension schemes, including the Railways Pension Scheme, one of the UK's largest and longest established pension funds. Our heritage of looking after the pension needs of the rail industry and its employees gives us our name and our unique outlook on how we serve our members. Railpen takes a holistic view, focusing on how we serve members today and how we can positively impact the communities and the world they will retire into.

Within this role, you will be a valued member of the wider C&T Team by playing a crucial role in project delivery, driving efficiency and enhancing overall performance. You will contribute to the C&T team, ensuring that the Railpen Change Management approach is adhered to throughout the project lifecycle. This role will look to collaborate with business stakeholders across the company to successfully deliver projects to support Railpen’s strategic goals. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager, who has demonstrable experience of delivering high quality projects within the Financial Services industry and in line with the project standards and governance set out by the Change Policy and associated procedures. The ability to work within a complex change environment, and deal with ambiguity is key. You will have exceptional project management and planning skills and an in-depth knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.

We are looking for someone who has proven capability of building and maintaining relationships with business stakeholders, keeping them fully informed with project progress to ensure they are engaged throughout the project lifecycle. You will be a credible communicator who can effectively manage relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders, communicating strategy and vision. Exceptional organisational skills including attention to detail and time management are fundamental to ensure timely and quality delivery.

Our values of integrity, community and alignment are the guiding principles that influence our behaviour. They help us make decisions and shape our relationships with others. They’re what we stand for. You will actively demonstrate our values, helping to create a safe environment, to place the needs of the community above oneself and, through a culture of ‘fair challenge’, align to the best interests of our members.
