What is the purpose of this job?
We believe that the art of programme management involves inspiring a shared strategic vision, coordinating multiple workstreams, and providing direction across project teams. As a programme manager, your role is to deliver programmes, projects, and initiatives throughout their lifecycle within scope, time, and budget. You will need to follow the RDG Project Delivery Framework and encourage others to do the same. Success will be measured by the effective delivery of programmes within our organization and, where appropriate, our member organizations.
This role will lead RDG\’s delivery of industry programmes, which may include fares, ticketing, retail projects, and industry back-office system projects.
What can I expect to do in this job?
Working with the Programme Director and other stakeholders, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the programme: representing it, resolving blockers, setting direction, and managing multiple workstreams.
- Establishing, maintaining, and managing programme and project plans, tracking progress, and addressing issues.
- Managing risks, issues, and changes, initiating corrective actions, and assessing impacts on costs and time.
- Setting up governance in line with RDG\’s structure and providing reports and papers for stakeholders.
- Line managing and supporting project teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Adhering to RDG Project Delivery Framework standards and suggesting improvements.
