What is the purpose of this job?
Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of high-value, high-impact paid media plans. This role is critical to ensuring our media investment is working as hard as it can—driving measurable outcomes, delivering excellent value for money, and holding partners to account to ensure media plans are continually optimised for maximum effectiveness.
What can I expect to do in this job?
· Work with our media agency to design, execute and evaluate a high-value, high-impact paid media plan to ensure that objectives of the National Marketing Strategy are met and investment is maximised.
· Review and challenge proposals: Evaluate media channel plans and proposals to ensure they align with strategic goals, align with creative objectives, offer strong value for money, and reflect best practice in media planning and buying.
· Ensure accountability and delivery: Monitor performance to ensure media investment is working as hard as it can and hold partners to account on KPIs, delivery timelines, targeting, placement quality, and innovation.
· Optimise performance: Use media performance data and insights to drive continuous optimisation of media activity across platforms and formats.
· Evaluate effectiveness: Lead the measurement of media outcomes, including reach, engagement, conversions. Support colleagues with the provision of media delivered and econometrics to measure return on investment.
What experience, skills and knowledge do I need?
Essential
· Proven experience in managing large-scale paid media campaigns across a range of platforms (TV, digital, social, OOH, print, etc.).
· Strong working knowledge of media strategy, planning, buying, and performance optimisation.
· Commercial acumen with an ability to assess value for money and cost-effectiveness.
· Experience defining commercial targets, developing clear media briefs, interrogating agency responses and developing plans to deliver to objectives.
· Skilled in media auditing, delivery tracking, and analytics, with a focus on continuous improvement.
· Understanding of econometrics and campaign tracking to measure impact of campaigns
Desirable
· Knowledge of or experience working in the rail industry
· Experience working in a media agency and/or in media buying
