About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Graduate Structural Engineer to join our residential solar energy team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates in Civil, Consulting Civil, or Structural Engineering to gain practical experience in the fast-growing renewable energy sector, particularly in the integration of solar systems with residential buildings.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct building surveys and provide structural data to ensure MCS compliance for flat-roof solar panel installations on residential properties.
- Collaborate closely with solar design engineers to support DNO (Distribution Network Operator) applicationsfor solar system connections.
- Work with specialized software such as Pylon to assist in project design and documentation.
- Assess and verify the structural integrity of existing roofs prior to solar installation, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and recommendations for solar mounting and support structures.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and project managers throughout the design and installation process.
Requirements
- Fluent in Chinese (both written and spoken).
- IELTS 6.5 or above, or equivalent English proficiency (UK nationals exempt).
- UK degree, preferably a Bachelor’s in Civil, Consulting Civil, or Structural Engineering.
- Eligible for or currently holding a Post-Study Work (PSW) visa.
- Strong understanding of structural analysis and residential building design.
- Ability and willingness to pursue relevant UK surveyor or structural certification.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
